9/11 Food drive

9/11 Neighbors Feeding Neighbors

Valley-Wide Food Drive

The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona (ISBA) is delighted to be partnering with our Phoenix-area sponsoring organizations in order to serve those in need in our community. Last year this food drive was a re-stocking effort for The Cultural Cup Food Bank in downtown Phoenix and the Extended Hands Food Bank in Fountain Hills. Our smaller food banks continue to need help with donations, as they are less well-known, but experiencing an increase in the need to supply vital services to their communities.

Event Details

Individuals and members of partnering organizations will be going out into their neighborhoods and communities to ask for food donations to collect for this food drive. They will begin doing this on September 2014. All food will be dropped of at the partnering organizations. In 2013 we were able to use two trucks from the Extended Hands Food Bank to visit the participating organizations to pick up all of the donations. They then delivered these to the Cultural Cup Food Bank and the Extended Hands Food Bank. – A list of suggested donations can be found here

Volunteers Needed

Volunteer participation for this event is requested for loading and unloading trucks. If you are able to help that day, please write to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona and our Food Drive Partners (listed below) are planning our 9th Annual Multi-faith Food Drive to support three small food banks, the Cultural Cup Food Bank, http://culturalcup.com/ and Extended Hands Food Bank http://www.ehfb.org/ and ICNA Relief Community Food Pantry https://www.icnarelief.org/where-we-work/arizona/

This year, due to COVID-19, we have made a slight adjustment for the safety of the community. The food drive will be conducted as donations of money so that each food bank can buy those items that are urgently needed. We will still do this in partnership as a community wide project but using our computers to share our love and support virtually.

We have come up with a way that you can donate on behalf of your congregation so that our partners can still see how much their congregations gave towards this drive.
